The High Voltage Operations Lead is responsible executing and coordinating the operation and maintenance of the LoneStar Transmission Lines and Substations to ensure safe, reliable and economic operations in accordance with applicable standards of the Public Utility Commission of Texas, Texas Reliability Entity and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation. This position executes designated LoneStar condition assessment and maintenance tasks in coordination with LoneStar maintenance vendors and the LoneStar System Control Center. The HV Operations Lead is responsible for ensuring adherence to LoneStar safety and environmental processes and procedures in personal work as well as while overseeing outside vendors providing operations and maintenance services.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
* Coordinate and supervise crews and other support personnel to achieve the safe and reliable construction, operation and maintenance of transmission lines and substations within the LoneStar Transmission System. 
* Provide event response and trouble-shooting of unplanned outages, and support restoration in coordination with the LoneStar system control center and technical staff 
* Maintain certification to perform all high voltage switching and clearance activities through internal LoneStar and NextEra training programs 
* Perform regular T/S condition assessment and preventative maintenance and repair activities 
* Support routine T/S operational testing and relay calibration 
* Schedule and initiate construction &amp; maintenance activities for effective utilization of resources which meet system requirements 
* Ensure appropriate tools, equipment, materials, and vehicles necessary to efficiently and economically perform work are available 
* Ensure the compliance of construction and maintenance operating standards, specifications, and procedures to NERC,TRE and ERCOT requirements; 
* Promote activities for protecting the safety of employees, equipment, and the general public in compliance to Lone Star safety policies and OSHA safety standards 
* Attend safety meetings and follow company safety and environmental policies 
* Manage and maintain utility truck and tool inventory
* Minimum two year degree in technical /engineering science field or equivalent experience 
* Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred (BSEE/BSME) from an accredited college or university
* Minimum 1-3 years practical T&amp;D and/or equivalent technical background, preferably with a working knowledge of transmission and substation work methods
* Valid driver's license

The Control Center Tech I performs advanced technical tasks on moderately complex System Control Center (SCC) systems including, but not limited to, corporate Wide Area Network (WAN) system, proprietary company software and systems, third-party database systems, and will provide secondary support of an Energy Management System (EMS). This position will contribute to optimizing SCC processes with minimal supervision, perform technical tasks of a moderately complex nature dictated by established processes and work practices within Lone Star. Perform technical and economic evaluations of designs and studies for SCC projects. Assist in the coordination of moderately complex SCC projects. Prepare accurate and timely technical documents required for moderately complex SCC projects. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems as assigned. Train less experienced personnel to perform technical tasks. May interact with various groups within Lone Star performing assigned technical tasks.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

The installation and removal of software from computer systems and networks, diagnose and repair technical issues

Plan-design-implement and administer user networks
* 
Ensure all hardware and software work properly, assemble hardware, install or delete software, troubleshoot computer equipment, and recovery of lost or accidentally deleted data.

The Control Center Tech I must possess exceptional problem-solving skills, possess excellent interpersonal skills, as well as, an abundance of patience and must be extremely organized and able to juggle multiple projects at once. Must have a deep understanding of common software and will be expected to become familiar with, and have a deep understanding of, Lone Star's proprietary software and systems.
* AS/AA Degree in Engineering-related or Computer Science-related required
* Demonstrated technical knowledge in technical specializations within the SCC (e. g., WAN, database systems, computer system operations, etc). 
* Technical experience related to SCC processes or work practices.
