Title: N Chemistry Technician Senior

Under minimal supervision, using safe lab practices, perform quantitative and qualitative analyses including sampling, in-service testing or testing and measuring of radioactive contaminants and chemical properties of various environmental, liquid, and gaseous streams in nuclear plant systems and components. Maintain records, evaluate trends, develop new methods, train new techs. Position holder will calibrate test instruments, prepare standardized chemical reagents, and maintain laboratory equipment including laboratory and in-line analyzers. Observes and applies industrial safety and radiation protection in strict compliance with applicable plant procedures and regulations practices. This position involves 12-hour rotating shifts with on call responsibilities and holding an emergency response organization position.
AA degree in Chemistry, BS preferred or equivalent formal college training leading to a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, including laboratory courses in general, analytical and organic chemistry, and advanced math or Nuclear Navy engineering laboratory technician experience. Education and experience may be combined in order to meet the qualification requirements and of ANSI N18.1-1971 Chemistry Technician.
Chemistry Technicians shall have a minimum of two years of working experience and one year of related technical training in addition to their experiences.
