Successful candidate will perform various tasks to support design changes. Will be provided practical hands-on experience and mentoring to assist the student with achieving deliverables related to the project.
Requirements:

Supervises the staff in Design Engineering for the Electrical staff. The successful candidate will provide the leadership and be responsible for the Electrical group's overall performance. The candidate will be able to plan, develop, coordinate and direct small or large scale design projects with complex issues relating to Electrical. This includes Electrical scopes of work for NSSS, BOP, HVAC, Security and all Electrical Distribution Systems including the Switchyard. Responsibilities also include the Equipment Qualification Program, the Appendix R Program and Station Blackout. Types of problem solving and issues range from simple to complex. Directs the Electrical group's work, sets priorities to align with the station needs and ensures schedule adherence and proper technical resolution of design related activities. Monitors the qualification and training requirements of the Electrical Design staff including outside contractors supporting the Projects Department and Electrical EFIN group. Establishes and reinforces department goals, standards and expectations. Manages the Electrical groups Corrective Action program and Operating Experience review backlogs including supporting root cause teams and apparent cause evaluations. Reviews and approves all Engineering Changes from within the design group, the EFIN group, the Projects group and the TRC group supporting the Switchyard&lt;?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /&gt;

Position requires thorough working knowledge of nuclear industry standards and regulations including software QA, Equipment Qualification, Appendix R and Electrical Distribution Systems. The individual will have demonstrated knowledge in many facets of Electrical Design including: Electrical calculations, control circuits, power distribution, batteries, inverters, switchgear, motor control centers, generators, exciters, protective relaying, 345kV switchyards, Appendix R and Equipment Qualification.. Candidate must be able to work overtime and callouts to support emergent work, forced outages and other conditions as needed including performing as the FIP/Troubleshooting Lead and completion of Prompt Operability Determinations and 10CFR Part 21 Evaluations. The individual will also support scheduled 18 month refueling outages and an emergency preparedness position.

The position requires that within 6-12 months from hire date the employee assumes an emergency response team (ERO) position and participates in annual drills. Accordingly, once the employee assumes the ERO position, he/she is required to report for duty at the assigned emergency station within 50 minutes of the sites emergency activation. The candidate will likely be assigned pager duty on a 6 week rotating basis which includes being fit for duty and within 1 hour of the Station for 24 hours per day for a 7 day period.

PE preferred.

Work Schedule: Alternating work schedule with every other Friday off. 0700-1630. Overtime and call-ins required to support emergent work, plant outages, and other conditions as needed. Some shift work may be required to support outages and emergent work.

Evaluating/designing control circuits for Appendix R criteria is highly desired, including experience in preparing calculations using ETAP software and design changes in a NAMS environment.
