Position Specific Description Under limited guidance, position is responsible for oversight and coordination of all wind turbine major maintenance in the designated region, and occasionally out-of-region, including work that is self-executed or performed by Contractors. Position leads internal and external resources to execute maintenance work with direct accountability for safety, environment, quality, schedule, and cost. Position is expected to apply rigor, discipline, and focus in following standardized processes and procedures, while continuously applying a lean and quality improvement mindset to improve the process. The successful candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of wind turbine equipment and maintenance methods, with skill in resolving technical issues and leading unplanned scope. Position works closely with internal and external support groups including Planning, Engineering, Business Services, Human Resources, Tooling and Logistics, and external suppliers to develop and implement complex plans for execution of work scope.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support pre-job planning and coordinate personnel, tooling, materials, and other execution requirements to ensure successful and efficient work execution
  • Follow and execute all processes to support communication, compliance, quality, documentation, and project tracking objectives
  • Demonstrate strong safety culture, leadership, and coaching behaviors
  • Apply technical knowledge and expertise to support field issues
  • Develop procedures and work methods as needed
  • Travel to various sites as required to coordinate work and inspect quality
  • Develop and demonstrate leadership skills to assume greater accountability for internal employee development and performance management
  • Recruit and hire strong candidates for field technician and leader positions
  • Perform leadership administrative functions including time and expense validation, performance reviews, etc.
  • Provide job updates and analysis
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Ability to travel 50% of the time

Strong knowledge of experience with Wind Turbine maintenance, especially major component repairs and replacement
